we left San Francisco almost two weeks ago, for our roadtrip through B.C. and Alberta. it was a pretty exhausting travel day/night, so we were so excited for tuesday night’s sleep. we flew to seattle Mmonday evening, and ended up having to spend the night in the airport. it was nice having been in seattle a couple weeks prior so we knew the layout and how the transit system worked that we would have to take in the early morn to get to the downtown area to catch our bus. we took an early trip from seattle to vancouver and picked up our rental car just before noon. after running a few errands in the city, we ventured off to kamloopswe used Hotel.com to find our various hotels for the week, and we’re thoroughly impressed with each of our stays. we spent the night at riverland inn in kamloops. it had the most beautiful view from our room in the morning! (and they provided a free hot breakfast!)
i was most excited about our next leg of the trip! ~ the drive to Banff! it was such a beautiful drive, with the most gorgeous views. we found banff rocky mountain resort, and were so excited to spend two nights there. thursday was a full sightseeing day. Lake Louise, the Banff Gondola, an evening walk downtown, and the Sulphur Mountain Hot Springs ~ Lake Louise was BEAUTIFUL, the walk atop Sulphur Mountain after riding up the gondola was lovely, and the Hot Springs were SO hot, but SO nice after a long day.
we left banff on friday and drove up to Spruce Grove, just outside of Edmonton. we were so grateful to be able to spend two nights at jason’s sister’s place. we were also surprised when jason’s mother came to visit, too. it was great to spend some time with them all, especially our nephew. he is one, crazy, wild child! haha!
saturday evening we went to the West Edmonton Mall for dinner where we met up with a couple friends from back home now living our here. it was great seeing some familiar faces after being on the road for a couple months.
it was a little hard getting on the road sunday afternoon; but when we did we were on our way to jasper, and stayed at mount robson inn – another pretty decent find. monday was our longest drive of the week ~ Jasper to Vancouver. It was an 8-ish hour drive, but with our various stops it definitely took longer than that, haha.
oh, and shout-out to my amazing husband. he drove the entire week!

we wish the show had spent more time in Vancouver.
wednesday afternoon we wandered downtown for a couple hours before the show. thursday we took the aquabus for a short ride to Granville Island, and spend a little time there.
jason had rehearsal on friday, so I spend the afternoon exploring downtown vancouver, walking around from Sunset Beach, up to Stanley Park, through the Harbour, down to Gastown, and then back to the hotel.
once again the weekend is a busy one with four shows. i’m personally looking forward to the sunday evening show to be over so nate and I can get through load-out quickly. here’s to hoping it goes smoothly getting our displays and product packed up!
oh, today’s matinee show (saturday) i was surprised with my mom’s cousin, jennifer, coming up to me and saying hi. that was lovely 🙂

late monday night we will be catching a flight back to toronto. i’m looking forward to seeing some of my family at the airport, who are coming to meet us there and pick up the majority of our luggage. we’ll spend a couple hours in toronto and then tuesday afternoon we fly to Cuba! SO excited for that! we’re classifying that trip as our ‘official’ honeymoon. because jason was in the middle of his contract when we got married, we only got away for a few days, so this Caribbean vacation is greatly anticipated.
when we get back from Cuba we’ll spend the rest of the month at my parents!
and then back to work – St. Paul, Minnesota – the first week of december!
